WHAT is solar heating?
WHY solar heating?
- Go Green - You do not need to burn any fuel or use any electricity to run your solar pool heater. Your solar system uses the sun as its energy source.
- Save Money! - There are no ongoing operating costs associated with solar pool heat. You make your only investment up-front for the installation. Typical gas or heat pump pool heaters can cost $600/month (heat pump) or up to $500/month for a gas heater. That doesn't include the upfront cost of the unit and installation which can run several thousand dollars in itself.
- Longevity - Along with saving money, heat pumps and gas heaters can be costly to maintain and they are typically replaced every 5-10 years. Solar pool heating is very simply designed for years of use with minimal maintenance.
- You Live In NJ - You have a pool and you live in NJ. That means that you have only a short window of opportunity to enjoy your investment. The solution is to extend your season by heating your pool!

Typical Solar Heating System:
The above diagram illustrates the simplicity of a solar heating system. Essentially, cold water from you pool is pumped by your existing filter system through a (A) check valve that ensure water does not flow backwards in the system. The water then enters (B) a series of solar panels that are placed in an area that receives optimal sun. The solar panels themselves consist of hundreds of tiny tubes that create a mat. This creates a large amount of surface area to collect the suns rays and heat you pool. The water, now heated by the sun, then (C) leaves the solar panels and enters your pool.
